On August 8th, 2024, the Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) proudly hosted its first Junior Recital, a significant milestone for final-year music majors who are preparing for graduation. As part of their culminating assignment, students are required to perform a 20–25-minute repertoire showcasing the music they have studied during their time at CPCE.

Teacher Candidate Meyers delivered an impressive performance, featuring musical pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and an original composition dedicated to the CPCE staff and students she had the pleasure of working with. Her performance was met with enthusiastic applause from an audience that included Lecturers, peers, and distinguished guests. Among those in attendance were the Director of CPCE, Dr. Julie Jailall; the Head of the TVET/Allied Arts Department, Ms. Alicia Griffith; and CPCE’s Coordinator of Music, Mrs. Altea Wintz.

In her remarks, Dr. Jailall reaffirmed her continued support for the music program, expressing pride in the accomplishments of the students. Mrs. Wintz also praised the event, stating, “The music department is committed to developing well-rounded musicians who can read, play, and compose. Today’s recital is a testament to that commitment.”
Meyers received high praise for her performance and is set to graduate in October.
