Upon completing your studies at CPCE, you will serve the GOVERNMENT and people of Guyana for a specified contractual period. YOU WILL BE PLACED AT A SCHOOL IN ANY PART OF GUYANA WHERE THERE IS NEED FOR YOUR SERVICE.

PROGRAMMES OFFERED:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of five (5) CSEC subjects Grades 1-3, including English Language and Mathematics.

SPECIALISATIONS

-EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION -PRIMARY EDUCATION -SECONDARY

Subject disciplines: Agricultural Science, Business Studies, English, Home Economics, Industrial Technology, Information Technology, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Science and Social Studies.

NB:

a. Applicants for the Secondary Specialisation (except for Mathematics) MUST have obtained passes in at least TWO areas within the subject discipline to be pursued, with at least Grade 2(CSEC General Proficiency, after 1998). b. Applicants who are desirous of pursuing of pursing Agricultural Science must have at minimum, , Grade 1 or 2 CSEC Double Award or Grade 1, Single Award and Grade 1 or 2 in Biology or chemistry. c. Candidates who specialise in industrial Technology, upon successful completion, would be awarded an Associate Degree in Education and a Caribbean Vocational Qualification award.

PROGRAMME 2 – TRAINED TEACHER’S CERTIFICATE (THREE – YEAR)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have at a minimum, four (4) CSEC subjects, including Mathematics and English. Successful completion of the CPCE Teacher Upgrading Programme would be accepted.
